With the recent events we have all seen how important solidarity is and that each and every one of us helps in any way we can. In the despair of the disaster I was glad to see the wave of solidarity with the fire-affected areas, people and animals. 🧑🤝🧑👭👬👫
The biggest victims of the fires, unfortunately, are again the animals that by thousands (or even more as there are no official estimates) have lost their lives and their habitats since this year in Greece have burned about 900,000 acres of land. For this, for #givingbackmonthly for the month of August, Wasteless Design chose to donate to @animawild the small amount of 20 euros that corresponds to 5% of the previous month's profits. 🤝
I think that ANIMA is an organization that most of us know, but I will say a few words about its work.
ANIMA - Wildlife Protection Association is an association founded in 2005 by people with many years of experience in wildlife care in Greece. Among them are veterinarians, biologists, foresters and friends of nature and wildlife. 🧑⚕️🧑🏫🧑
ANIMA's main activity is the care and reintegration of wild animals in their natural environment. Given that in Greece there is no state body that deals with this subject, together with other organizations dealing with the care of wild animals covers the basic need for the protection and conservation of wildlife.
Receiving wild animals from all over Greece, it treats on an annual basis more than 5,000 birds, mammals and reptiles among them rare and endangered wild animals. 🐺🐍🦅🐰🐦🦊🦎 🐿️🦇🦔🦉
The reintegration of animals into the wild is an equally demanding process, which is why ANIMA has its own premises but also cooperates with other bodies for the reintegration of animals. In the final stage of the release, the organization collaborates with a variety of organizations for the release of wild animals in suitable habitats throughout Greece. 🏞️🌄
