About us
Inspiring Conscious Living
Since 2018.
Wasteless Design based in Thessaloniki offers products that facilitate and inspire a more sustainable lifestyle with less waste (zero waste lifestyle) since 2018. The choice of materials is based on the criteria of sustainability and fair production, organic materials, fair trade materials and local materials that are available are always preferred. All materials used are plant-based and animal-free. The reusable cloth pads we produce are a more sustainable alternative that offers you safety with less waste. In addition to the cloth pads and panty liners, you will find in our e-shop reusable make-up remover wipes, reusable grocery bags, while our product range is constantly expanding guided by ecological consciousness and your needs.
A few words about the founder.
My name is Vera Bogiari and from a young age I loved designing and making objects with making clothes for my dolls being one of my favourites. I followed this dream in my adult life and in 2013 I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts with a Fashion Design degree. The same year the great tragedy of the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh happened with over a thousand victims that changed forever how I viewed the fashion industry and ignited the global Fashion Revolution movement in which I later actively participated by organizing and being part of its activities in Greece. So I began to question whether I wanted to work in an industry based on the exploitation of underprivileged people while at the same time through personal research I discovered the serious impact of fashion on the environment that gave me the final push to other professional pursuits as ethical and sustainable companies that existed at that time were very few and the prospect of working for them unlikely.
Since 2014 I have adopted the zero waste lifestyle as I firmly believe that personal responsibility and action is the least we can do for the environment and by leading with our example we can influence those around us and collectively bring about substantial and necessary social change. For environmental reasons, I also decided to embrace the vegan lifestyle that later opened my eyes to the moral fight against the exploitation of non-human animals.
In December 2017 for health reasons I had to quit my job as a cook and so I had to think of a way to make a living that combines my values and abilities. From this need Wasteless Design was born which is a project that represents me 100% and I have also given the 100% of myself to build it and get it where it is today. Thank you and I appreciate immensely all of you who have supported it for the last 3 years and I do my best so that the products we offer meet your expectations and satisfy you. Your ideas and constructive criticism are always welcome.
